Kehlibar hails from Bulgaria's Thracian Valley, where Vinprom Karnobat blends Muscat Ottonel, Ugni Blanc, Dimyat, and Red Misket grapes into a rakia-style brandy aged three years in oak. Local tradition inherited from the ancient Thracians calls for dropping pieces of natural amber resin into the barrels after distillation — the source of the spirit's name and its warm, amber-gold hue. Expect ripe muscat aromatics balanced by oak, a dense grape-forward palate, and a long finish. Sip it neat or stirred into a brandy old fashioned.
