Overview

The Fiji 2004 17 Year edition is a molasses, 100 percent pot-distilled rum. It is an exceptional example of the classic Fijian rum profile from South Pacific Distilleries, Fiji's only distillery. Tropically aged in ex-bourbon for 12 years with a further 5 years maturation in the UK in American Oak casks. It was bottled in New York State at 58% ABV.

Tasting notes

Subtle grass and fresh bananas on the nose yields on the tongue with bursts of citrus, pepper notes and hints of caramel. A buttery mouthfeel leads to a lingering dry finish of spicy oak and balsam.
