Hillrock Estate Distillery - Solera Owners Special Reserve Rum Cask #1
After aging in American Oak and Oloroso casks in the Solera, this unique American whiskey is then finished in fine Rum casks.
The Rum Finished Solera Bourbon starts off with inviting tropical coconut and vanilla bean. Next there is a rich scent of warm brown sugar and cinnamon that flirt with the high rye bourbon and sherry finished Solera base. The spirit is packed with light brown sugar, as well as flavors of cream filled sugar wafers and taffy.
Next, floral notes of honeysuckle and wildflowers mix with the brown sugar and creamy vanilla as they fade and dissipate. The power and finesse of this spirit are found in the combination of toasted coconut, clove, and brown sugar. The flavors play off one another as the savory rum flavors linger.
