"I've never had brandy before, but I'm trying it now. For comparison, I also purchased a 375ml flask of E&J VS brandy. There is no doubt that the XO is smoother. Spicey, fruity, and unbelievably sweet, it has a buttery smooth texture. This won't let you down if you enjoy sweet spirits. I typically drink dry bourbon or scotch, so the sweetness of this brandy was a bit much for me, but I'm growing used to it. I like this brandy, and when I run out I'll probably buy another bottle."
"Though I don't have a lot of experience with brandy, I have tried a number of more expensive cognacs, like Martell, Dusse, Hennessy, Remy, Courvoisier, Camus, etc. The best price I have found for brandy is by far E&J XO. For $12. 99 for a 750ml bottle, it is incredibly smooth. Although it has a moderately sweet flavor, I enjoy the flavor and could easily sip it neat all day long. There are undoubtedly superior (and most certainly far more expensive) choices available. I haven't come across a better option, though, for a person on a tight budget."
"This is not what you want if you are accustomed to Hennessy, Remy, or anything else similar. Although smooth and with a clean buzz, the drink. However, if you're switching to a less expensive alternative that you want to be similar, this isn't similar enough to say so. Still, it's good. It's a clean drink, so I have no regrets about my purchase."
"Definitely not a quality brandy, and not even a good one. Well, I felt I would give this item a shot because I appreciate the Christian Brothers and Korbel offerings. It has an overpowering vanilla flavor that is obviously fake and not from aging in an oak barrel, therefore it leaves a bad impression. Yes, it was just $13, but if you want to drink bottom shelf, I highly recommend Korbel V. S. O. P. , Christian Brothers, or St. Remy. They are all more smoother and better tasting."
"Despite the fact that Remy Martin VSOP is my personal preference, I think the E&J XO is a fantastic deal. I can drink it more frequently as it costs between a quarter and a third less than Remy. Only slightly more edge was needed. Sweet? Not significantly more than the cognacs, just a little bit. Your taste buds should guide you. Definitely worth looking into. Smooth, flavorful, and inexpensive. That means you can get a cognac for 80–90% less money. a specific value. Remy, Courvoisier, or Hennesey, you want the flash. E&J XO is a great option for a budget-friendly beverage that goes well with a cigar."
"I enjoy whisky, but I'm not sure what makes a decent brandy. Having saying that, I thought this was delightful and silky. The sweetness is similar to a caramel/vanilla Canadian whisky. very simple to consume. I always have a few brandies on hand because they work wonders to calm an upset stomach, make a nice pre-meal drink, and help with cold symptoms (sore throat, cough). I might reconsider why I now have them on hand because the first use of this bottle was eye-opening. Silky, sweet, and smooth mouthfeel. Exactly right."
"In this price range, this is the best brandy you will find. It is smooth and mildly sweet, unlike other cheap brandies. It feels similar to spirits that are considerably more expensive and finer. However, it is not even close to the excellence of many cognacs that have been aged for seven or more years."
"The fact that they can keep charging $12 for a 7-year-old brandy amazes me. I wouldn't consider myself a brandy expert, but E&J produces some of the "darkest" brandies I've ever tasted. These brandies are smooth, simple to drink, and heavily flavored with black ingredients like maple syrup and chocolate, with little fruit or herbal flavor. I actually really like the richness, but it's also too heavy on the sugar and can be a little syrupy. Blending this with a "brighter" brandy actually makes for a great compromise, taming down the rough edges while preventing it from being too syrupy, and it's reasonably priced so you don't feel bad about experimenting with it."
"You receive precisely what you paid for. It's neither gut rot nor Korbel; it's in the middle. You can tell that this young brandy was essentially run through a charcoal filter because it seriously lacks age notes. Although the almost entire absence of grape on the scent and the lingering vanilla flavor can be deemed disgraceful, the wine can be described as smooth. I believe you can use it to make a fantastic brandy-based drink. If you haven't already smoked yourself out of your wits, I can almost certainly tell that this is not a good sipper. I've tried brandies from Georgia and Armenia in the Caucasus that were far better. You receive a big scent of grapes and oak from those at least. However, given the price, this is undoubtedly astonishing."
"Exceptionally smooth and without any roughness. It doesn't cost a million dollars or come in a nice package, but it's the best I've ever eaten. I'm tempted to give it a poor review solely to prevent it from selling out!"
