Cree is the independent-bottling label from Scotland's Whisky Broker Ltd, based in Creetown in Dumfries and Galloway — and this release draws its spirit from the Isle of Arran. Aged 18 years in a refill sherry hogshead and bottled at cask strength (54.6% ABV), it carries Arran's signature coastal fruitiness: pears and oatmeal-raisin cookie, apple pie and vanilla bean, a dash of peach and white chocolate-covered stone fruit. Pour it neat or with a splash of water to open the fruit, and let it lead a slow evening dram.
