Covenant's Mensch Zinfandel comes from the Mettler family vineyard in Lodi, California, one of the state's oldest wine-growing sites and a region long known for old-vine Zinfandel. The blend co-ferments Zinfandel with about 20% Petite Sirah from the same vineyard, adding backbone to the wine's naturally fruit-forward character. Fermented in French oak with native yeast and aged roughly nine months before bottling, it pours jammy with raspberry, spice, and firm tannins underneath. Pour it alongside grilled meats, barbecue, or a hard cheese board.
