Virginia Distillery Company builds this American single malt from 100% malted barley, then rests it in first-fill European red wine Cuvée casks treated with the Shave-Toast-Re-char method developed by the late Dr. Jim Swan. Left unchilled and uncut in color, it opens with plum, dark raspberry and chocolate torte, moves into tart cherry, blood orange and burnt sugar on the palate, and finishes on candied walnuts and ginger.
