From Islay's Bruichladdich comes the .3 chapter of Octomore, the distillery's super-heavily peated line grown on terroir rather than just malt spec. This edition is distilled entirely from Concerto barley grown two miles from the distillery on Octomore farm, worked with local farmer James Brown, then aged in a mix of first-fill bourbon and European oak casks. Expect white chocolate and pear up front, building to creamy vanilla, orange cream soda, and a long, smoky, cigar-like finish. Pour neat for sipping, or over a single large ice cube to open the smoke.
