Bowmore 12-Year Old Sherry Oak Cask is a single malt Scotch whisky from Islay, Scotland, matured in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon barrels and European oak Oloroso sherry casks. That sherry influence gives the whisky its deep amber color and a nose of vanilla caramel, red berries, and dried fruit, moving into a palate of peaches in syrup, toasted almonds, and cinnamon before a long, spiced finish. Islay's coastal maturation adds Bowmore's signature layer of gentle smoke underneath the sweetness. Pour it neat after dinner alongside dark chocolate or a dram of good cigar time.
