Named for the Mull of Oa, the Islay peninsula that shields Ardbeg's distillery from Atlantic storms, this single malt plays the brand's rounder, more approachable side — the first addition to Ardbeg's core range in over a decade. Ex-bourbon, Pedro Ximenez sherry, and virgin charred oak whiskies are married in the distillery's French oak "Gathering Vat" and bottled at 46.6% ABV. Expect smoky applewood, toffee, and dried fruit, with tea leaf and gentle spice lingering. Pour it neat, then add a splash of water to open things up.
