Aged at least 4 years in a new charred oak barrel, this un-smoked whiskey finishes with flavors of malt, toffee, caramel, and chocolate. This is a bourbon drinker's malt whiskey.
Tasting notes
Color: Dark Amber like rich Maple syrup
Nose: Sitting next to the glass you get a nutty, oak aroma wafting from the glass. Closer inspection brings notes of brown sugar, and cinnamon roll with a fresh yeast bread top note. Coffee and chocolate are prevalent, especially with a little water added.
Palate: The palate pops with more of the brown sugar plus buttermilk biscuits and walnuts and then progresses through to the rich coffee, dark chocolate and black tea. A touch of water brings forward a buttery caramel and oak character while retaining the rich, dark chocolate finish.
