2. The 4th of July Daiquiri

The Daiquiri is a sweet, almost smoothie-like rum based drink that can be made with all kinds of fruit. There are a lot of ingredients in this recipe, but the actual process is quick and easy. Once you see and taste the end result, you'll never drink anything else on July 4th again.

For a simpler version, you can drop a color or even two!

Ingredients:

Strawberry Red Daiquiri

  • 8 oz frozen strawberries
  • 1 Tbsp Sweet Crude Rum
  • 3 tsp fresh lime juice (bottled can be used as well)
  • 1/2 Tbsp sugar
  • Ice cubes, about half a cup

Creamy Coconut White Daiquiri

  • 2.5 oz RumChata
  • Squirt of fresh lime juice (bottled can be used)
  • 1/2 cup coconut sorbet
  • Ice cubes, about half of a cup

Blue Fruit Daiquiri- Blue

  • 1.5 oz Blue Pinaq
  • 1 oz lime juice, fresh preferred
  • 1 Tbsp Sweet Crude Rum
  • 1 Tbsp Blue Curacao Liqueur
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • Ice cubes- about a cup

Instructions:

  • Blend the red Daiquiri ingredients in a blender, then transfer to a bowl or pitcher. Keep frozen.
  • Rinse the blender, add the white Daiquiri ingredients, blend and store in the freezer.
  • Rinse the blender one more time and blend the blue Daiquiri ingredients, using more ice than the others aiming for a well blended slush texture. Add it to the others in the freezer.
  • Take out your glasses (the recipe makes about 3-4 glasses, depending on how big your glasses are) and slowly and gently fill a third of the glass with Strawberry Daiquiri, followed by equal amounts of the Creamy Coconut White Daiquiri and Blue Fruit Daiquiri. Take care that they don't blend together, freezing each layer if needed.
  • Garnish with mint or American flag toothpicks or whatever else you have on hand, and get that party started!
