Where are they located?
Naturally, the Spirit of Hven Distillery is located on the beautifully green island of Hven (also known as the island of Ven). But where is the island of Hven, you ask?
Quite a good question.
Hven is located in both shores of the island in the strait of Öresund, between Denmark and Sweden. Hven is only 5-miles in circumference, holding a population of 350.
Who founded Spirit of Hven, and when?
The idea was born to Anja and Henric Molin in 1998 upon the couples' realization that the island of Hven had amazing conditions, climate, and locally sourceable ingredients for a distillery. Planning began in 2000 and the distillery opened in 2008, becoming the third pot still distillery in Sweden, and with time, a major player in the spirit industry throughout Europe.
What Makes the Spirit of Hven Distillery Unique?
The location of the distillery provides the ideal conditions for spirit complexity and aging, and the green nature of the Island of Hven, one of the most fertile areas in the country, results in extraordinary raw ingredients. Henric Molin is the Master Distiller, as well as master of creating unique spirit recipes that capitalize on the resources special to Hven and the strait of Öresund. Everything is and always has been created under one roof, from making the mash bill to distillation to aging to bottling. The Spirit of Hven Distillery also has a hotel, laboratory, boutique, bar, and restaurant to its name, making it a one stop shop and a real experience, just like their whiskies!

Tycho's Manhattan Cocktail Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Tycho's Star Whisky
- .5 oz red vermouth
- 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
- Cocktail berries, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
- Pour the ingredients into a shaker with ice.
- Strain into a chilled tumbler glass.
- Garnish with red cocktail berries if desired, and enjoy!
