Sagamore Spirit Sherry Finish Rye Whiskey: The Process
The Sagamore Spirit Sherry Finish Rye Whiskey starts out as the original Sagamore Spirit 4-year-old straight rye whiskey with a structured oak profile. Then, it goes into 132 gallon PX sherry barrels, where it remains for a year and a half and takes on undertones of dried fruit and honey. The result is a rye whiskey with a 53% ABV and sophisticated tasting profile made up of dried fig, soft spice, cocoa, jam, raisins, honey, toffee, candied orange peel, and velvety toasted almond.
Manhattan Cocktail With Sherry Finished Rye Whiskey
The classic Manhattan cocktail features rye whiskey, vermouth, and bitters, with a cherry on top for good measure. The traditional Manhattan is good, but once you try this cocktail with the Sagamore Spirit Sherry Finished Rye Whiskey, you'll never go back!
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Sagamore Spirit Sherry Finished Rye Whiskey
- 1 oz sweet Hotel Starlino Vermouth
- 2 drops Angostura bitters
- A maraschino cherry (optional)
Instructions
- Fill a cocktail mixer with ice.
- Add the whiskey, vermouth, and bitters, and mix.
- Strain into a cocktail glass and add the maraschino cherry.
