Buffalo Trace - Old Fashioned Copper - OFC 1996
O.F.C. 1996 Old Fashioned Copper is a very rare and collectible bourbon from Buffalo Trace, crafted to honor the distillery’s history. The bourbon was distilled in the year 1996, and matured for over 25 years before being bottled at 90 proof.
The O.F.C. brand pays homage to the Old Fashioned Copper Distillery that was opened by Colonel E.H. Taylor Jr. in 1870, and is known today as Buffalo Trace. The most state-of-the-art distillery of its era featured copper fermentation vats, column stills, and a first-of-its-kind steam heating system that is used to make award-winning bourbon whiskey in Buffalo Trace’s aging warehouses to this day. O.F.C. 1996 Old Fashioned Copper comes in an eye-catching crystal decanter and luxurious wooden wooden presentation case that takes up three spaces in a parcel.
It offers aromas of cherry cordial on the nose, followed by caramel and slightly smoked oak. Dark chocolate, tobacco leaves and dates are found on the palate, followed by a lingering finish of leather, black pepper and cinnamon.
