Highland Park - Spring 2019 Release 40 Year
This Spring 2019 Release of Highland Park 40 year old is based around five of their finest refill casks, holding whisky laid down before 1979. Refill casks, with their subtle oaky character are ideal for a long, slow maturation.
In 2008, the whisky from these casks was brought together, filled into first-fill sherry seasoned American oak casks and left to mature quietly for a further ten years, absorbing the nutty and fruit-laden notes of sherry and depth of character and layers of richness to the final flavour.
Tasting notes of soft berry fruits, dark chocolate, silky vanilla, orange zest, nutmeg and aromatic peat smoke.
