Bruichladdich - Port Charlotte Heavily Peated Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky Pac: 01 2011
Introducing the newest Cask Exploration edition in Bruichladdich’s heavily peated Islay single malt, the Port Charlotte PAC:01 2011 demonstrates the versatility of their soft, barbecue smokey Scotch in the highest quality French oak casks. Two parcels of Scottish barley distilled spirit have matured for a minimum of six years in ex-American oak casks before being transferred to red wine casks from the Gironde left bank, north of Bordeaux. Bottled at 56.1% ABV, this spirit showcases stunning spice and fruit notes. It is a rich and elegant, undeniably Islay single malt.
Nose: Fresh and dried fruits, wafts of apples and pears, with raisins and oaky spice, wrapped in warming floral peat.
Palate: Sweet, malty oak with bold, pungent peat smoke and firewood embers. Citrus zest and fruit cake with plenty of earthen spice.
Finish: Soft salinity and lingering medicinal smoky peat combine with rich dark fruits, cloves, ginger, caramel, and vanilla.
