Brown Forman's - King Of Kentucky 16 Year Old Kentucky Single Barrel Bourbon Whiskey 2024
Rare, rugged, and remarkably refined, the 2024 release of King of Kentucky represents the absolute pinnacle of American whiskey. Established in 1881 and revived by Brown-Forman in 2018, this label is dedicated to finding the "honey barrels" that have rested undisturbed for nearly two decades. At 16 years old and a staggering 129.5 proof, this single-barrel expression is bourbon in its most powerful, unadulterated form.
Every year, Master Distiller Chris Morris hand-selects a microscopic fraction of barrels that have matured with exceptional character. These are not blended; they are bottled individually, non-chill filtered, and presented at barrel strength. Because this is a Single Barrel release, each bottle is a unique snapshot of a specific moment in time—once it's gone, it’s gone forever.
Nose: An immediate explosion of dark chocolate-covered cherries, vintage leather, and deeply toasted oak. Beneath the proof lies a delicate ribbon of maple syrup and dried tobacco leaf.
Palate: Massive and coating. Expect a rich "chew" of burnt brown sugar, baking spices (clove and nutmeg), and dark stone fruits. The 129.5 proof provides a bold, spicy grip that never overshadows the underlying sweetness.
Finish: Infinite. A long, warming fade of charred oak, espresso bean, and a lingering hint of black pepper that demands a second sip.
