In 1904, Bond & Lillard won recognition at the St. Louis World's Fair — then Prohibition wiped it out. Campari's Whiskey Barons Collection revived it, with Wild Turkey's Eddie Russell rebuilding Batch 2 from the original 75% corn, 13% rye, 12% malted barley mashbill, aged past seven years and charcoal filtered. Expect vanilla, orange zest, and toasted oak, baking spice and a hint of mint mid-palate, finishing dry with spice and wood. Bottled at 100 proof in a 375ml bottle — pour neat to catch every layer.
Tasting notes
Batch 2 is aged a minimum of seven years for light amber color and bright, floral notes. Aromas of vanilla cream, green apple, and orange zest followed by more notes of green apple on the palate with baking spices, toasted oak, and a hint of mint. Finishes dry with oak and spice.
