Cane Vodka
When distilling our rums, we use only the “hearts” (meaning the “choicest”) cuts, which are captured during the middle of a distillation run. This leaves the “head” and “tail” cuts to be distilled again through our vodka still. Not only is this frugal—our grandmothers would be proud—but the process also creates a vodka of appreciable smoothness with a hint of sweetness and sugar cane flavor. Perfect in a spicy Moscow Mule. Best consumed while formulating new postulates of existential philosophy. Or while refuting established postulates of nihilistic philosophy. (Or while—real quick-like—looking up the definitions of nihilistic and existential while trying not to forget what postulates you were planning to postulate in the first place.)
