Kilkerran Heavily Peated has been matured in ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks, adding a fruity, sweet character alongside its savoury peat centre. There are aromas of freshly baked shortbread, coconut and smoked green banana peels on the nose, leading to notes of digestive biscuits, gooseberries and bracing peat smoke on the palate.
Tasting notes
Nose - Notes of freshly baked shortbread, cream soda, banana loaf and coconut shavings introduce this heavily peated dram.
Palate - The creamy, vanilla notes carry through to the palate in notes of buttered digestive biscuits and custard creams.
Finish - The peat is prominent in the finish, along with hints of gooseberries to round off this dram.
